How many square feet will the furnace heat?
V1500- 2500 sqft insulated

How often do you have to feed the furnace?
V1500 - 8-12 hours
S2000- 10 to 14 hours
(depending on wood type and temperature)
What is the difference between forced air and a boiler?
A boiler uses a massive firebox to heat a huge body of water contained in a sealed jacket. Once the water is heated it must not lose fire or the water jacket freezes and breaks the sealed compartment causing water to enter the firebox.
A forced air unit is a simple fire contained in a sealed box, surrounded by a heat air chamber that is pressurized by a large blower that forces air into the home through your typical HVAC system. If you must leave or go away for an extended period of time, your existing furnace will take over.
Do I need to insulate the pipe outside?
Typically NO. The air temperatures are usually above 180 degrees and can raise to above 210 degrees. With these type of temperatures you should not need any additional insulation outside. Doing so will raise your air temperatures 5-10 degrees if you feel the need. This can be done by simply applying a heat rated insulation wrap or blanket.
How does the Indoor Thermostat work?
The thermostat is wired and placed inside the house in a location of your choosing. It is attached outside to the furnace induction fan. This is a fan mounted directly in the firebox, that feeds oxygen to the fire at a rate of 90 cfm and controls the amount of air the fire receives. When you turn the thermostat to 70 degrees the fan feeds air to the fire and causes an increase in temperature in the firebox. Once the heat chamber hits 110 degrees the blower begins sending heat to house. When the house reaches 70 the induction fan stops and the heat chamber cools down. Upon reaching 90 degrees the blower stops running. When the house drops below 70 degrees the process starts again. This has been reported to save 30% on wood usage and electricity.
What type of chimney can I use?
Chimney choice is up to you. You can spring for a class A stainless chimney or a single wall stove pipe chimney. As long as you maintain a safe distance from the house, you can install any type of wood burning stove approved chimney.
How much smoke does the furnace produce?
Smoke amount is going to depend on wood type and moisture content. I like the saying "the hotter the fire the less smoke".
How far away from the house should the furnace sit?
We recommend at least 4 feet from the house, but once again it is personal preference. Most stoves sit fairly close, since the outside of the unit stays cool.
How hard is the installation?
Most installations can be done in about 4 to 6 hours, and the furnace comes completely assembled. The only install is the chimney and duct work needed to achieve your particular set up.
Once I pay for the furnace what can I expect?
Once your order is placed you will be sent a receipt for your purchase. It takes about 24 hours to notify the shipper of your order. The shipper will arrange pick up within 3 days and send us a Bill of lading. We will forward the BOL to you and you can track the shipment for yourself. Standard time is 10-14 days from your order date.
What can I expect for service after the sale?
Our service department is available 7 days a week and can answer your questions and assist during your install. Should you need any parts, we usually overnight the package and pay for all shipping costs.
What is the warranty and what does it cover?
The warranty is 5 years covers any and all parts of the furnace. If there is an issue that can be fixed locally we will pay up to 25 dollars per hour and 100% of parts to have it fixed. If your furnace needs sent back for repair we will pay any and all costs involved in shipping, parts and labor. This warranty is not pro rated and is 100% for 5 years.
Where can I see a furnace?
Due to the nature of a self-install unit, we don't typically suggest visiting an existing customers home to view a furnace. Not only is this a privacy issue, but some folks may not take the care and detail in installing there furnace as we may like to see. Although if you would like to speak with an existing user of the furnace we can put you in touch with someone that can give you a first hand account of there experience.
